Western Sydney Wanderers assistant boss Kenny Miller insists that the Parramatta outfit are the biggest club in the country.
The red and black club had a fairytale beginning during the early years following their inception in 2012, incredibly going on to conquer Asia by winning the AFC Champions League in 2014.
But the Wanderers have had a steady decline in fortune in recent years with their best showing in the past four seasons being a sixth placed finish in the league back in 2016-17, following which they dropped one spot lower with each passing year.
Miller made the switch to join the Western Sydney club following a brief stint with Newcastle Jets, following manager Carl Robinson as he swapped Newcastle for Parramatta during the season break.
Meanwhile the recent recruitment of fellow Scots Graham Dorrans in midfield and Ziggy Gordon in defence has seen the club go four A-League games without suffering a loss, currently sitting in third place during the early stages of the season.
“Western Sydney Wanderers wanted Carl to take over the reins and rebuild the club,” Miller said, according to The Daily Record.
“They’ve been through a bit of a funk over the last two or three years and I believe it’s the biggest club in the country.
“The facilities, stadium, the whole infrastructure are all built for success and we are looking to establish a brand of football to bring back the good old days.”
Western Sydney Wanderers will take on Macarthur FC at the Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday.
