Brazilian hitman Bobo insists that his return to Sydney FC feels like “coming back home”.
The 36-year-old forward recently made a surprise return to the Sky Blues after having previously spent two eventful seasons with the club, which saw him winning two Premierships, a Championship and an FFA Cup in the process.
The ageing striker also proved to become one of the most prolific marksmen the A-League has ever seen, as he found the back of the net 27 times in 2017-18. That feat stands as the highest number of goals scored by any player in a season.
Following a very successful stint with the New South Wales club, Bobo went on initially agree to a contract extension before leaving to join Turkish club Alanyaspor before putting in brief stints for Hyderabad FC in India and Oeste in his homeland.
Having now made a return to Australia, the forward appears to be rearing to produce the magic that began the dominance of Sydney FC in recent years.
“I’m happy to be back, it’s like coming back home,” Bobo said, according to the club’s official website.
“[It’s a] great feeling, good to see the boys, and the new ones here.”
He added: “We try to get the third consecutive trophy for this club.
“We need to do what they have done for the last four or five years.”
Sydney FC take on Western Sydney Wanderers in the derby game between the two sides at Stadium Australia on Saturday.
