Luke Brattan recently completed 200 appearances in the A-League during the recent 3-0 victory for Sydney FC over Macarthur FC, and is now looking forward to another 100 appearances in the Australian top flight.
The 30-year-old midfielder came out of the Brisbane Roar academy and spent five years in Queensland before being signed by Manchester City, before returning to sister club Melbourne City on a lengthy loan spell until 2019.
But in more recent times, Brattan joined current champions Sydney FC in July 2019 and is a regular for the Sky Blues, having started all four of their games this season.
Having reached 200 appearances in the Australian top flight, the former Manchester City man is eyeing a feat accomplished by only four players at this point. Andrew Durante, Nikolai Topor-Stanley, Leigh Broxham and Liam Reddy are the only four players to have made over 300 appearances so far.
“If I can get to 300 games I’ll be happy,” Brattan said, according to the club’s official website.
“It’s a proud moment to reach 200 games. It crept up on me but it’s a great honour.
“Some people don’t have very long professional career so 200 games is a proud moment and hopefully there’s more to come.”
Sydney FC will take on Wellington Phoenix at the Kogarah Oval next Monday.
