Young goalkeeper Adam Pavlesic is thrilled to return to training following a difficult start to his career at Sydney FC.
The 18-year-old made his debut for the Sky Blues during the AFC Champions League campaign last year, featuring in the 1-0 defeat to Jeonbuk. But it was in his second appearance – a 4-0 victory over the Shanghai Haigang away from home – that disaster struck.
The youngest ever shot-stopper for Sydney was involved in a clash of heads with Shanghai defender Yu Rui, which ended up with the ‘keeper sustaining a collarbone injury that caused him to be stretchered off early on.
Following a surgery and rehabilitation process, the youngster is now back in training and is looking forward to better times with the current A-League champions.
It feels excellent to be back, I’m really happy to be back amongst the boys in training,” Pavlesic told the club’s official website.
“It’s been really frustrating over the last three or four weeks especially knowing I was so close but still a bit away from full training. Hopefully sooner or later I can get the opportunity to play for Sydney FC again.”
