Marco Rojas returns to fitness following hamstring injury

Melbourne Victory manager Grant Brebner has revealed that Marco Rojas is fit for the upcoming clash against Adelaide United on Saturday night.

The Kiwi sustained a hamstring injury in the first-half of the club’s opening game of the A-League against Brisbane Roar, which ended in a 3-1 defeat at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

During the course of that loss, Rojas was put through his paces during half-time and brought back on during the second period, only to be taken off after 72 minutes.

Brebner now insists that the long three week break between the game against Brisbane and the upcoming game against Adelaide has worked in his favour.

“Marco has completed every test that we have asked him to do,” the 43-year-old told reporters.

“It was just a slight hamstring injury that he had in that game against Brisbane and if one thing, the break has been good for us to get some players back and some match fitness into the legs.”
